Dr. Feben Kurban has dedicated her career to improving her patients quality of life through better hearing and balance care. Born in Eritrea (East Africa) and growing up in the United States, her passion for audiology stems from her personal experience with both her father and brother’s hearing loss, giving her a deep understanding of how hearing challenges affect communication, connection, and relationships.

She founded InnerEar Balance & Hearing Center with her patients in mind, committed to delivering timely, professional, and compassionate care that empowers individuals to take control of their hearing and balance health, while reducing unnecessary wait times and ensuring patients receive accurate, appropriate referrals from the very beginning.

Dr. Kurban and her husband moved to Portland, Oregon in 2020. She is a proud mother of two girls and enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, and exploring new restaurants with her family. Personal hobbies include basketball, book club with her friends, sketching, and cooking.

She earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from Pacific University and has extensive experience building and expanding audiology clinics in complex healthcare environments. Early in her career, she played a key role in developing clinics in New York City, gaining valuable experience in program growth, clinical systems, and patient-centered care. She has worked in diverse clinical settings across New York City, Michigan, San Antonio, TX, and Portland, OR.

After relocating to Portland, Dr. Kurban built the audiology clinic at Providence St. Vincent from the ground up. Within five years, she successfully expanded the service line to include comprehensive vestibular assessment, while maintaining strong referral relationships that consistently kept her schedule booked several months in advance. Her work reflects a commitment to clinical excellence, access to care, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her well-rounded experience has shaped her into a compassionate, detail-oriented clinician who values both clinical excellence and meaningful personal connection.
